Survey of Deformable Models

چکیده
This report surveys current literature related to statistical shape analysis. There are two paradigms: (1) Models that have no prior knowledge about the shape. They evolve boundary curves in time while maintaining predefined smoothness constraints. (2) Models that have prior knowledge about a fixed shape. They use this knowledge to find object boundaries using the covariance matrix and the average shape as constraints.

A Hybrid 3D Colon Segmentation Method Using Modified Geometric Deformable Models
Introduction: Nowadays virtual colonoscopy has become a reliable and efficient method of detecting primary stages of colon cancer such as polyp detection. One of the most important and crucial stages of virtual colonoscopy is colon segmentation because an incorrect segmentation may lead to a misdiagnosis. Materials and Methods: In this work, a hybrid method based on Geometric Deformable Models...
متن کاملI-48: Ultrasound Deformable Model for Virtual Surgery Simulation of Oocyte Retrieval in Infertility Programs
Background The use of a medical simulator should enhance the goals of minimally invasive surgery: patient safety, cosmesis, shortening the length of hospital admissions, and reducing cost. Using an innovative approach to the handling of ultrasound images in virtual reality simulation, this article describes a process that employs a hybrid model of deformable models that can be applied in the te...

متن کاملA Survey on Deformable Model and its Applications to Medical Imaging
Deformable models provide a promising and vigorously researched model-based approach to computer-assisted medical image analysis. The widely recognized potency of deformable models stems from their ability to segment, match, and track images of anatomic structures by exploiting (bottom-up) constraints derived from the image data together with (top-down) a priori knowledge about the location, si...
متن کاملhp-Spectral Finite Element Analysis of Shear Deformable Beams and Plates
There are different finite element models in place for predicting the bending behavior of shear deformable beams and plates. Mostly, the literature abounds with traditional equi-spaced Langrange based low order finite element approximations using displacement formulations. However, the finite element models of Timoshenko beams and Mindlin plates with linear interpolation of all generalized disp...
متن کاملA Survey of Deformable Modeling in Computer Graphics
This paper presents a survey of the work done in modeling deformable objects within the computer graphics research community. The research has a long history and a wide variety of approaches have been used. This paper organizes the diversity of research by the technique used rather than by the application, although applications are discussed throughout. This paper presents some purely geometric...
